Turbosmart’s Patent Pending, eWG40 is a fully electronic actuated wastegate – Built on the successful, class-leading GenV CompGate40 architecture, now with the kind of control never seen before. The eWG40 CompGate40 is a 40mm Electronic External Wastegate that uses full electronic control without the limitations associated with traditional pneumatic control.
Starting with a Turbosmart’s GenV wastegate body, you can be confident the mounting orientation will match your existing manifold and outlet hardware. The GenV CompGate40 already had class-leading flow capacity and heat handling characteristics. Now featuring the Turbosmart Patent Pending eWG actuator system, you can also be sure of unparalleled control.
There are no springs, no hoses, no boost reference signal, nor any associated limitations. Gone are ‘Minimum’ boost levels associated with base spring pressure or heat-related issues with hoses. If your manifold priority is good enough, you can set your boost anywhere from zero up to ‘All of it’ – All from your laptop or tuning interface. The eGate range requires a Dual Half-Bridge input for control, much like how an electronic throttle body is controlled and the strategy is as good as your imagination and your ECU or controller will allow.

The GenV Motorsport Range takes the GenV modular range of External Wastegates and incorporates a CFD Designed and Real World Validated Heatsink between the Wastegate body and the actuator. While all GenV Wastegates include a Ceramic isolator between the body and actuator to ensure the least possible heat transfer occurs (for maximum life), the Motorsport external wastegates and incorporates a CFD-designed and real-world validated heatsink between the wastegate version takes this further by putting more distance between the two, while also using both convection within the engine compartment and physical shielding to eliminate harmful levels of heat from ever reaching the actuator. This also aids in valve and guide cooling, extending service life in demanding environments. The Motorsport Variant is, without doubt, the most suitable for the extreme conditions associated with the endurance styles of motorsport!

GenV CompGate40 CG for Compressed Gas and C02 External Wastegate is designed for control strategies that require a large tuning window and large pressure differentials from the top to lower actuator housings, whereas traditional actuators on poppet style gas can achieve around 2-3x base spring pressure, the CG / C02 Version is capable of extreme multiples of the base pressure through the use of additional reference signal, high-pressure gas and C02.
The GenV CG and C02 variants are equipped with an inverted diaphragm, which is capable of high-pressure and high-pressure differentials (top to bottom), facilitating large tuning windows and the large boost-bandwidth associated with Drag Racing, Rally and Rally RX systems.
